☕ How to Brew: Authentic South Indian Filter Coffee
Using our traditional 4-piece Brass Filter is a mindful morning ritual that produces an incredibly rich, thick decoction (concentrate).
- The Setup: Place the upper chamber (with the pierced holes) securely on top of the lower collection chamber.
- The Coffee: Add 3 to 4 tablespoons of medium-fine ground coffee (ideally blended with chicory) into the upper chamber.
- The Tamp: Place the "umbrella" plunger gently on top of the grounds and press down lightly to level them. Leave the plunger in place.
- The Pour: Pour boiling water over the umbrella plunger until the top chamber is nearly full. Put the lid on.
- The Wait: Allow 15 to 20 minutes for the water to slowly drip through the grounds. The resulting dark, syrupy decoction in the bottom chamber is ready to be mixed with hot frothed milk and sugar in your Brass Dabara.
